Sea Moss FAQ’s
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Sea Moss?
Sea Moss is a form of seaweed, a specific type of red algae. It has been part of the human diet for thousands of years and has been used to treat a variety of health conditions ranging from cough, cold, and infections to low libido. It aids in maintaining a increased sex drive, and a metabolic boost amonst a variety of other health benefits (cell regeneration, energy and stamina booster, rids body of mucus, detoxification…)
The sea moss that we use is wildcrafted, harvested and imported from Jamaica and St. Lucia via 2 family owned and operated businesses in Florida. It is a mineral-dense cell-food made popular most recently by Dr. Sebi as a vital part of the Alkaline Diet Lifestyle.
What's the difference between the Purple, Green, and the Golden Sea Moss?
While all three share the same minerals and nutrients (92 of the 102 nutrients housed/ needed in the human body), so you can't go wrong with either...the purple and green moss have a higher Iodine content, and contains anthocyanins, which gives it the deep purple color while the green is compacted with more body nutrient minerals. Those anthocyanins are what make it higher in antioxidants, higher in Iodine content, anti-inflammatory and overall contains more medicinal properties than the Golden Sea Moss. The purple and green tends to have more of a naturally stronger 'Sea' smell and flavor, but once turned into a gel, and put into your smoothies, you can no longer taste or smell it.
What does your Sea Moss Gel taste like?
Most assume it has a “fishy” flavor because it is harvested from the sea, but it DOESN’T! We use all-natural preserves (lime & ginger & elderberry) that gives it a “citrus-y” flavor & smell , but takes away that “sea flavor”....this is why you can add it to just about ANYTHING (smoothies🥤, tea , coffee ️, energy drinks, Gatorade, soups, salads) without changing the flavor & unlocking the NUMEROUS HEALTH & NUTRITIONAL benefits packed in this superfood!
How do I store my Sea Moss Gel?
Store it in the fridge partially uncovered or with a lid that allows it to breathe. Sea Moss is a living organism, therefore it needs to breathe. Covering your sea moss with an airtight lid may create a breeding ground for organisms and bad bacteria to grow, which will cause the sea moss gel to spoil, but HAVE NO FEAR! You will be able to smell & notice if this is the case! Your gel can last for up to 4 weeks in the refrigerator (partially) uncovered. If you use your gel daily, spoilage will NEVER be a concern!
(If you don’t think you will use it all within the 3-4 week period, I suggest pouring it into silicone ice cube trays and keeping it in the freezer! It will stay fresh this way for up to 4 months!)
How can I use my sea moss gel?
You can use your sea moss gel both internally and externally. Internally, it can be added to smoothies, teas, juices, and even made as a tea itself. It is also commonly used while cooking soups, as an oil substitute (to saute vegetables), and as a thickener in baked goods….get creative!
Externally, sea moss gel can be used on the face as a mask or on the entire body. Apply the sea moss to your skin and leave on for about 20-30 minutes and rinse off. The more you use it, you will naturally discover more ways to enjoy it while receiving optimal cell-food. Externally, sea moss is excellent and very beneficial for skin issues including psoriasis, eczema, and other skin-related issues.
